Barranquilla Carnival Style

February 22, 2017

Carnaval de Barranquilla, the second largest Carnival in the world after Rio de Janeiro, is a force to be reckoned with. Barranquilla’s Carnival is also Colombia’s most important folkloric celebration. The carnival has traditions that date back to the 19th century. During the carnival, Barranquilla‘s normal activities are paralyzed because the city gets busy with street dances, music, and masquerade parades. Since I’m living in Colombia this year during the long weekend festivities, I am going to venture into the celebration! Here is my ultimate style guide to Carnival:

  1. Ulla Johnson: Natalia Dress
  2. Loeffler Randall: Suze Ankle Wrap Sandal
  3. The Eternal Headonist: Yellow Leather Star Crown Headband by Rebecca Share
  4. MAC: Gold Glitter
  5. Clare V: Blue Dapple Fannypack
  6. Odette: Miro Earrings
