Oh, springtime in Paris – can life get any better? Paris is always the city that makes me feel the most inspired, the most romantique, the most worldly, and certainly the most happy. Each visit has been unique, but still allowed me to experience the essence of the city. If you didn’t catch my initial excitement for this post, I’ll reiterate that Paris is my absolute favorite city. I love it so much, it was already my fourth time visiting and certainly not the last!
The last time I was in France, I hopped on a train to see the stunning, awe-inspiring Palace of Versailles, about ten miles outside of Paris. At that time, I didn’t think to book in advance and was heartbroken to find out they were closed that day as I approached the royal fence. When planning my most recent trip to Paris, Versailles was the first item on my list because I have been lusting to visit for years!
Lace dresses simply exude romance and elegance. Crafted with artisanal precision, they make you feel ultra-feminine and glamorous. They are perfect for any special occasion, from galas to weddings, and everything in between. Here are some lace dresses that are fit for a queen:
These crunchy brunch muffins are quick and easy to make and seriously delicious. I had a bunch of overripe bananas and decided to throw in some extra pantry ingredients into the mix to change my typical banana bread recipe up a little bit. The granola and coconut really help enhance the banana flavoring, and the cupcake liners make them easy to grab and go as a pre or post-workout class snack.
Do you love hats as much as I do? Living in Los Angeles, sunblock may be noble, but when the occasion calls for a little Sophia Loren charm, no amount of SPF can compare to the addition of a hat. I recently found a hat from Lack of Color that I had to buy for my Halloween costume (yes, I know it’s still months away) and was flooded with compliments when I wore it out over the weekend. Here are some other hats that I’d like to add to my closet:
After spending a long weekend in Amsterdam, I traveled by train to spend a few days in Brussels, Belgium. Brussels is not only the capital of Belgium, but also of the European Union as it hosts a number of principal EU institutions. The cityscape swings from majestic to quirky to rundown and back again with it’s art-nouveau facades facing off against 1960s concrete disgraces, and regal 19th-century mansions. A week later I am still in a food coma from devouring street waffles, cones of frites smothered in mayonnaise, moules drenched in butter, and chocolate truffles. All of which was washed down with Belgian beer.
Wow, how do I even begin to explain how much I loved Amsterdam? It was the cleanest, most picturesque, and exciting city I’ve ever visited. Plus, it has a modern aesthetic with a bunch of fabulous museums, design shops, and cafes. Most people get around by walking or biking which makes it quieter than most cities. And after visiting, I finally understand the lighting in Dutch landscape paintings because it was impossible not to be inspired by the mood and all the colors!
